This is the only Ivy song thus far not to be written by any member of the band. When teaching RE at a school in Suffolk I used to travel with a guy called Will Forster (a physics teacher). On our 45 minute journey we would discuss the elements of what made a perfect pop song and we would muse over songs we wish we had written. Anyway one morning, when I was driving, he got a paper and pen and just wrote this song – the theme had a nod to Alanis Moressette’s “You oughta know” and me and the members of Ivy were extremely grateful to him. The last I heard of Will, he was becoming a big shot in the city of London after leaving teaching for a career in business.
4 bars
You got another think coming
If you thought you’d seen the last of me
You got another think coming
If you thought you could play this game for free
Don’t worry things aren’t as bad as they’re gonna be
You thought you were so clever
With all the power games you play
Take a look in the mirror
See the lines of the debts still to be paid
So sorry not hearing what you say, hey hey hey
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey darling hey dear all my love all my kisses
Hey look who’s laughing now
I can sense your shiver
Hiding behind the macho glare
Just a small boy talking
No-one will know that you’re so scarred
Don’t cry dear know how much you care
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey darling hey dear all my love all my kisses
Hey look who’s laughing now
Guitar solo 8 bars
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey look who’s laughing now
Hey darling hey dear all my love all my kisses
Hey look who’s laughing now
Oh oo
